Trivia

  • Ajith is a member of the Apache Software Foundation

Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is a non-profit organization that supports the development of software through a community process and distributes them with both senses of freedom (free as in free beer and free as in freedom). Ajith primarily contributed to ASF through the Web services project. Being an ASF member (the highest honor ASF can attribute to one of its contributors) is really a privilege since membership comes with the recognition of meritocracy

  • He is from Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a small country down in the middle of the Indian Ocean. He is proud to be a Sri Lankan. However most South Asians look alike and Ajith sometimes gets into embarrassments when he is mistaken for an Indian and addressed with an Indian language. Being a former British colony , most Sri Lankans speak British English. Some words (such as serviette - which is a common term among the Sri Lankan English speaking crowd but not in US) causes amusement and confusion among Ajiths friends (he would calmly explain to them the meaning of the term in such a case)
