Pavan Kapanipathi

I am a Masters student at the Knoesis Center, Wright State University. Knoesis Center is recognized as Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge Enabled Computing, is ranked significantly by Microsoft in the World Wide Web Domain. I am adviced by Dr.Amit P. Sheth, Lexis Nexis Ohio Eminent Scholar. I am a Web enthusiast and enjoy working with Big Data on the web. I work in the Semantic Web Lab focusing on the "Real-Time Social Data and Semantic Web". During my Masters, I have contributed in building systems that provide scalable and distributed computing for analysis of data and broadcasting of information to users.

I had been to Digital Enterprise Research Institute, Ireland Galway as a Reseach Intern, supervised by Dr. Alexandre Passant. My internship primarily focused on "Scalable and Privacy-Aware Broadcasting in Social Networks". This work produced a few successfull publications and was funded and collaborated with Google. Presently, I am also collaborating with Fabrizio Orlandi, from DERI, on "Delivering Personalized Stream of Social Data to the users". I worked with Accenture, India from 2007 to 2009. The first few months I worked on developing applications for different internal departments of Accenture. Later, moved on to work for clients in web and telecom domain.

I got my bachelors in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India in 2007. During my bachelors, I joined Robert Bosch as a Project Trainee for my final semester project. Robert Bosch builds softwares for its Automotive products, where I contributed to develop a compiler for one of the products.
